The Bibi ( Sipunculus nudus ) is a "worm" fishing certainly well known to anglers who practice mainly fishing from Riva motorboats.and 'a excellent bait especially for some Sparidae (large bream, sea bream and sea bream) and sea bass. In reality it is not bodies that are real worms, although this term often indicates a similar body based solely on morphological characteristics which are precisely vermiform, but related bodies of the annelid considered by some as a taxonomic level preanellidi, by others as a group by itself. Characteristic of these organisms is the cylindrical body divided into a front that is more tapered than the rear end and is protrattile because it is the mouth surrounded by tentacles in a structure called proboscis, while the back of the animal is more enlarged. In their bodies the metamerism (repeat segments with their bodies) is absent unlike similar annelids. The intestine shows a U-shaped and the anal opening is located in front of the dorsal body. The sexes are separate and their larvae are similar to those of annelids and spend their lives in the relatively long pelagic phase, and then dispersed in an aqueous medium. The larva will grow plants on the bottom soft (sandy or muddy), but some species are perforated and can settle into limestone. They used to be covered with mucus produced by themselves and aspire detrivori because organic matter suspended in the aqueous medium. Their colors are usually inconspicuous. Fossorial species such as our Bibi sunken living digging in the sandy sediment U-shaped tubes in which they live and feed. Bibi is a bit all over the Mediterranean, from the tidal zone up to a few tens of meters deep. Sometimes exceed the length of 40 cm.
