Small Blood Sac Dogs Leg

dolphinfish

pelagic fish habits gregarious habits that youth living in state schools made by many individuals in older age and lives in shoals less numerous. One species lives in the Mediterranean, although in recent times it has been reported a 'else that can be easily confused with the "common" (Coryphaena hippurus ), Especially when it comes to young specimens. It has a long body and rather flattened laterally. The skin that is smooth to the touch, covered by small scales has' skin. The jaws are equipped with small teeth arranged in several rows and the mouth is slightly oblique to the jaw just prominent. In this species there is sexual dimorphism where the male (called in the Syracuse Caponessa) has a distinctive front pad. It has a long dorsal fin that reaches from the nape of the caudal peduncle. The analyst is quite developed, but appears shorter than the dorsal. The tail is forked. The color is green with shades of bluish Gold and silver on the sides where there are some dark spots, but the death of the fish becomes more uniform. E 'in predator fish at the adult stage feeds primarily "blue fish" small as anchovies, sardines, mackerel, flying fish and lizards. From mid-July in Syracuse the professional fishermen fall into the water "cannizzi", or structures composed of two or three palm leaves tied together and anchored to keep it near the surface. These objects floating in the sea create gray areas where the dorado are used to gather (together with small amberjack, pilot fish and other pelagic juvenile stage) and are then, once established their presence, easily captured seiners. At the end of July, these structures are under a few inches that individuals should not be caught again, but this species shows a rapid increase in September and already can capture specimens weighing around Kg or more. Being a very voracious species is also easily caught trolling near the "cannizzi" and when these multiple catches are not uncommon when you have multiple lines decreased. And 'one of the most sought after sporting fish for trolling on his tenacity in the flight once hooked and its not rare leaps out of the water. Once you reach under the boat, about to be pulled on board, often occur near the hook to copy other individuals captured the same species (and usually the same size) that follow. Such behavior is sometimes used by amateurs that keep the specimen caught in the water and catch the other individuals with the technique using spinning lures. Recently, is spreading the capture of this fish with the technique of light drifting. It reaches a maximum length of almost 2 meters and weighs 15 kg more than occasionally, but the specimens in size more frequently caught are between the 700 gr. and 2 kg of weight. It 's a widespread species. In tropical areas have been reported cases of ciguatera poisoning for those who consumed the meat of this fish. A few years ago, the meat of this species in south-eastern Sicily were not equally popular and well known than it is today and consequently the price has now increased a lot as a result of the increased consumption.

In some samples of my photos dolphinfish (Coryphaena hippurus ) captured not far from the coast of Marina di Avola (SR) over a depth range of 50 meters.
